The Story Behind the Collaboration
Part 02
Leather Exploration
Capturing the process of material exploration on film allowed me to see leather in a completely new light—how it could transform into so much more than just a material. Through my lens, it felt like documenting an art installation in the making, with every texture, fold, and finish telling its own story. Film brought a rawness and authenticity to the journey, celebrating leather as a canvas for creativity and purposeful design.
120 film:
Shot on Hasselblad 500C with Carl Zeiss 80mm F2.8 Planar, both camera and lens are Hasselblad's first-year production pieces from 1957.
35mm film:
Shot on Nikon L35AD2
Developed and scanned at Whampoa Colour Centre
Films used: Kodak Portra 400 both 120 and 135
It showcased the entire journey—capturing the process, the materials, and the transformation—alongside excerpts from interviews with the designers, adding depth and personal insight to the narrative.

Reflection Collaboration between creatives always sparks something unique and exciting; we have many different perspectives from many different personal experiences who shaped us to become who we are now. It was an intriguing practice to keep the creative juices flowing, breaking out of the mundane and seeing things with a new lens.
Coordinating so many moving parts taught me the value of staying organised and upholding a strong work ethic, even when things get chaotic. It’s a reminder that good work ethic is the backbone of a seamless creative process.
